Although it's available in a variety of configurations, the $1,400 version we tested features a powerful Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of onboard storage. The only quality that really sets it apart from a high-end gaming PC is the lack of a dedicated graphics card required for gaming at the highest settings.
Everything else you need from a laptop, from managing Excel spreadsheets to streaming Netflix videos, high-resolution videos, and photo editing, you can get it without any hassle. Of course, the Specter Folio isn't perfect because it doesn't have a built-in card reader, which means you'll need an adapter to transfer digital photos from the camera.
Our tests also showed that the trackpad, although responsive to touch, is on the small side for such a high-end laptop.
