This is the newest and most advanced compact camera in the Sony RX100 family at the time of writing. The model is clearly aimed at video bloggers, but will also be of interest to photographers. Its distinctive feature is its pocket form factor.

The RX100 VII uses the same 24-200mm equiv lens. f/2.8-4.5, same as its predecessor. Sony representatives say that the 20 megapixel 1” format matrix is used here as a new one.

The new matrix has more phase detection autofocus points (357 of them in addition to 425 contrast AF zones). Much more interesting is the fact that the camera features real-time tracking, just like the Sony A9 and A6400. There is autofocus for both the eyes of people and the eyes of animals. The press release states that the camera uses many technologies from the top-end Sony A9.

In addition to being able to shoot at up to 20fps without darkening the viewfinder, the RX100 VII can also shoot at up to 90fps. Focus and exposure are locked, there is no pre-buffering, and the burst length is only seven frames. But this is an interesting tool for capturing important moments.

The Sony RX100 Mark VI, of course, can shoot UHD 4K with virtually no rolling shutter, Full HD video up to 120p and high-speed shooting up to 1000 frames per second. Image stabilization is available both digital and optical. For avid videographers, a microphone jack has been added - it was clearly missing in the previous model. It is possible to shoot video in portrait orientation - for stories. The RX100 VII has a built-in intervalometer for time-lapse shooting.

If the capabilities of this top-end compact seem excessive to you, you can take a look at the more affordable Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100M6 with the same lens, but slightly more modest characteristics. It also received a very high rating in our test.

Nikon D5300 KIT is a great DSLR for beginners with lots of features

A camera with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi models that allow you to control it from your phone and determine the places where the photo was taken. The price of the Nikon D5300 KIT model is approaching the lower limit of prices for semi-professional digital cameras. At the same time, the Nikon D5300 KIT gives the photographer excellent potential for professional growth. This camera will definitely appeal to those who want to choose an inexpensive SLR camera with a large number of automatic modes and various artistic effects. The camera has an excellent dynamic range, fast autofocus, and easily tracks the subject during continuous shooting. However, the small size of the clipboard prevents you from fully enjoying the latter.

When choosing the RAW format, the DSLR gets stuck processing information for a long time. Similar problems arise when shooting video. The image quality when shooting in Full HD format is at a consistently high level, but focusing leaves much to be desired.
