A selection of the best 49-inch TVs

What are the best 49 inch TVs?

Today I will tell you how to choose a TV that is reasonable for your wallet.

How to choose a screen type

The entire market has been captured by two types of screens.

The following can be said about this:

  • LEDs are traditional LCD TVs. In this case, liquid crystals work through which powerful light passes. The technology is quite affordable in price and demonstrates high brightness. There are more expensive analogues created on the basis of quantum dots - QLED. Both solutions are durable, but still lose out to OLED. In this segment, a good image is produced by a 49-inch Sony TV;
  • OLED – in this case, the picture is played by organic light-emitting diodes, which themselves emit light and do not require backlighting. The technology is perfect, demonstrating minimal response time, excellent viewing angles and deep blacks. But, such opportunities always affect the price.

Matrix type of the best 49-inch TVs

Modern TVs are based on different matrices, but only two of them are the most common - IPS and VA. In the first case, liquid crystal molecules are placed parallel to the screen plane. With this approach, manufacturers have achieved large viewing angles, good, natural color rendition and high brightness. But the black is still not deep enough. Displays built on a VA matrix provide high contrast , but in other respects they are inferior to IPS.

Screen size and resolution

In principle, everyone chooses the diagonal to their liking. As a rule of thumb, 49 inches will work great in any living room. It is much more relevant to look at the resolution. It is measured in small squares - pixels - that make up the display.

When choosing, you will be faced with the following options:

  • HD – 1366*768;
  • FHD (Full HD) – 1920*1080;
  • UHD (UltraHD, 4R) – 3840*2160.

A panel with higher pixels produces a more realistic image (assuming the source content is of high quality). With a diagonal of 49 inches, you can safely abandon HD , since individual pixels will be clearly visible. And, conversely, premium films with 4K can be watched even from the closest distance. In the future, when there will be more 4K content, buying UHD will be the most rational choice.

Speakers in 49-inch TVs

To fully enjoy dynamic scenes, you need to look at the screen refresh rate. A high score indicates smoother movement on the screen. In this context, the index of dynamic scenes matters.

Such panels have a built-in special chip that can add additional frames to the original picture. This enhances the feeling of smoothness of what is happening. In general, it is good when the index exceeds 1400 units.

Digital TV

Advanced countries are gradually abandoning analogue broadcasting. But, modern panels can receive a digital signal without additional devices. For this purpose, the design provides built-in TV tuners. These things can read satellite digital, cable and terrestrial TV, including HD. For example, a 49-inch Lg TV is equipped with two built-in tuners.

Smart TV systems

Smart TV systems in modern TVs are not uncommon. The panel is easy to connect to the World Wide Web, including via Wi-Fi, which will help you use the built-in browser, online cinemas, and useful services.

World famous brands use different platforms. The most high-speed and multitasking is the Korean Tizen (49-inch Samsung TV) . However, Android (49-inch smart TV from Daewoo) and webOS (LG) have their fans.

There is DirectLED backlighting.

The panel is built on WebOS, supports Smart TV and is equipped with a built-in Wi-Fi module. There are two speakers for surround sound, with an excellent total power of 20 W. The control is on the remote control, but if you wish, you can download the application and use your smartphone for these purposes. Other useful functions include parental controls, a TV guide, and the model displays subtitles. There are all the main ports and connectors, optical output. Smart TVs 49 inches

Smart TV 49 inches Daewoo Electronics L49S790VNE (Android OS)

Another Korean manufacturer offers a budget LED TV with a 49-inch screen. The model demonstrates a laconic design; the body is made of simple black plastic. The resolution is quite consistent with the price segment - 1920*1080, which gives a good picture. There are no critical comments regarding clarity and contrast, but the brightness is still low and inferior to competitors with 260 cd/m2 . Added nice EdgeLED backlighting.

This is a Smart TV, so the model can work as a computer monitor. It is built on Android OS. From here you can easily go online, receive, send, download files. There is Wi-Fi support. I would like to note the generous presence of three digital tuners - with such functionality it is easier to appreciate all the delights of digital broadcasting. External devices connect to the TV via the USB port. You can connect your TV with game consoles and computers via HDMI ports. Price – from 23.4 tr.

Smart TV 49 inches Thomson T49D23SFS-01S (HDMI x3)

This sample of our rating shows a somewhat austere but pleasant design. The frames are quite thin and do not distract attention from the picture. In the rear, the manufacturer has placed connectors for the antenna and connecting external devices, which is inconvenient if you hang the panel on the wall.

If we talk about picture quality, then we can’t expect miracles. However, the image is decent. The manufacturer provides a good resolution for its price of 1920*1080, there is support for 1080p FullHD . Contrast and brightness are frankly average. I can praise the viewing angles - 178 degrees and good sound at 22 W.

The menu is well thought out; we can highlight the Thomson panel for its convenient control and the ability to flexible TV settings “to suit you.” This is a Smart TV, the menu has several sections, including video, sports, applications and personal recommendations. If you don’t like something, you can download everything you need. But I can’t praise the built-in browser; it looks pretty poor. The panel can support all popular formats and connects to almost any external devices. Price – from 27.3 tr.

Pros:

  • good build and design;
  • decent diagonal at an affordable price;
  • fast smart TV, Wi-Fi support;
  • sound and picture.

Minuses:

  • very inconvenient built-in browser;
  • brightness is low.

The Japanese offer LED TVs with a diagonal of 124 cm, which is suitable for larger rooms. The design of the case is laconic, made of black plastic. LED lighting is provided. A number of technologies work to achieve high picture quality; the model demonstrates an excellent resolution of 3840*2160, support for 4K UHD, and DVB signal.

There are no special complaints about dynamic scenes; the 100 Hz refresh rate copes with this too. The brightness is not maximum, but higher than that of its closest competitors. With viewing angles of 178 degrees, color reproduction is not disrupted when deviating from the center of the panel. In a bright room, the picture is viewed well; a special screen coating works against glare. But, black tends to fade into gray.
