4. Planing depth. It’s good if the maximum depth of the plane is 3-3.5 mm. For every additional millimeter there are several hundred watts and, accordingly, several extra kilograms of the device, so you won’t find more than 4 mm in hand-held household tools.

In some models, especially with large planing depths and high wood humidity, the chip ejection hole may become clogged. 5. You also need to pay attention to how often you need to change knives and drive belts. Usually no more than once a year, but sometimes right after each other. Removing and replacing the belt is not difficult: it is located directly under the removable casing - that black panel that is turned towards the camera in all photographs. However, each new belt will cost you about 300 rubles - almost a tenth of an inexpensive device!
