Intensive wash how long does it take to wash

Purpose of the program

Intensive washing should be used in exceptional cases when it is necessary to wash heavily soiled laundry. This function should be used as rarely as possible when you need to wash linen, cotton or synthetic items with stubborn stains.

What is intensive wash?

The program in intensive mode runs for quite a long time. The process can take from two to four hours. It all depends on the model and brand of washing equipment used.

During intensive washing, three times more energy and water are consumed compared to fast washing. This option is a serious test not only for the washing machine, but also for the laundry. After all, it spins in the drum of the machine for 2-4 hours. During this period of time, the laundry is exposed to physical stress and high temperatures. During intensive washing, the water in the machine heats up to 90-95 degrees.

When washing clothes in this mode, do not load the drum with laundry to the maximum. Also, the drum should not be almost empty. For the most effective washing in this mode, the drum should be at least a quarter full and a maximum of two thirds full.

At maximum drum load, washing efficiency is reduced by a quarter.

Intensive washing consists of the following steps:

  1. Pre-soaking laundry. The duration of this stage should be 15-25 minutes.
  2. Slow (about 20-30 minutes);
  3. Intensive (30 minutes);
  4. Slow (about 30 minutes);
  5. Intensive rinsing of laundry;
  6. Spinning clothes.

It should be noted that the implementation of this program may differ depending on the model and brand of the washing machine. Therefore, the times given are approximate.

What does intensive wash mean and when to use it?

Cleaning clothes in the intensive wash cycle is especially useful in the following cases:

  • when it is heavily polluted;
  • when oil and grease stains appear;
  • when removing sweat stains;
  • to remove germs.

The choice of intensive washing mode primarily depends on the degree of soiling of your clothes. For everyday stains, a quick warm wash may be sufficient, while heavily soiled outdoor suits may require a vigorous, hot machine wash with additional detergent to thoroughly clean.

It is also recommended to use warm water to remove any oil or grease stains. But keep in mind that some materials may shrink and fade, so be sure to read the item's label. To prevent the stain from setting, it is recommended to wet it with cold water first. Pre-treatment is also a useful way to remove stains from temperature-sensitive fabrics such as wool. Soaking before washing gives the detergent time to work its magic and absorb all the oils and dirt, and then when you wash the clothes, the chemical reaction in the surfactant will already be activated.

Additionally, if your family is battling a cold or flu, you may benefit from a hot wash to protect your household from reinfection. Washing towels, bedding and clothing in hot water helps minimize the spread of germs and allergies caused by dust mites.

In what cases can it be used?

You should not use intensive washing frequently, otherwise the washing machine will quickly fail. In this mode, the equipment operates at its maximum capabilities.

What is intensive wash?

A high load is created on the heating element, which heats the water in the machine to 90-95 degrees Celsius, and also maintains this temperature. The pump is also under heavy load. She has to pass hot waste water through herself. With frequent contact with hot water, the pressure switch begins to work worse, etc.

Modern automatic machines are more adapted to intensive use. In them, hot water cools in the tank before draining, after which it is pumped out by a pump.

This regime can be used maximum once a month. You need to accumulate heavily soiled items from durable fabrics, and then wash them all at once in one wash.

It is strictly forbidden to use the intensive mode to wash items made from delicate fabrics such as cashmere, wool or silk. It is also prohibited to wash shoes and outerwear in this mode.

Subtleties of use

All information about the modes can be found in the instructions for the machine. There are certain subtleties in using each.

Here's what it says about prewash:

  • It is carried out only with dry powder. If you open the instructions for using the automatic machine, you will find information that the main compartment cannot be filled with gel while this function is turned on. The fact is that the liquid product smoothly slides down the tube. When it comes to the main cycle, the compartment is already empty.
  • The function is not compatible with express modes. If it doesn't want to turn on, then most likely you chose an express wash. The manufacturers decided that it was not needed here. It is logical that if you need to wash things quickly, it means that the laundry is not so dirty and does not require pre-washing.
  • Manufacturers prohibit pouring anything other than washing powder into the pre-wash compartment.

Other popular programs

Let's look at other programs that are popular among washing machine owners.

washing modes

  1. Quick 30. It may also be called quick or quick wash depending on the type of washing machine. However, the meaning of the program, regardless of the name, remains the same. This mode includes the process of washing, rinsing and spinning. All this is done in a short time (about 30 minutes);
  2. Everyday. This program, like the previous one, runs quite quickly. However, it is much more intense. Using this mode, you can wash fairly dirty items in 40 minutes. This program cannot be used for delicate items.
  3. Manual. It is also called delicate mode. This program is used for washing fabrics that require careful handling. For example, cashmere, silk or organza, etc.
  4. Biophase. Using this mode, you can wash clothes stained with wine, fruit juice, etc. In other words, this program eliminates stubborn biological contaminants. Washing can be done in cold or heated water to 40 degrees Celsius.

So, intensive washing is used quite rarely. It should be used for washing heavily soiled laundry. The washing machine and laundry are subject to high stress when running this program. Therefore, you should not get carried away with it.

Activation and operation of the function

Not long ago, Samsung introduced an intensive soaking program. A technology in which even very dirty clothes become clean without any effort on the part of housewives. Now you don’t need to rub stubborn stains for a long time, experiment with stain removers and wait for 2-4 hours - the washing machine copes with the task quickly, efficiently and automatically.

When intensively soaked in Samsung washing machines, clothes soak in whipped active foam, thanks to ecobubble technology.

The soaking program is started by pressing the “Bubble Soak” button. To understand what it is and how it works, it is worth following the main stages of this program.

  • The first stage is soaking with detergent. After the user places the soiled item in the drum and turns on intensive soaking, the ecobubble generator (developed by Samsung) turns the detergent into active foam. Through the holes, the foam mixture penetrates the fabric structure and begins to gently destroy stains from the inside.
  • The second stage is a mini-wash. A little water is added, the drum is rotated for a while at low speeds, after which the detergent dissolves more strongly and begins to act more actively.
  • The third stage is direct soaking. The clothes remain in bubbles of well-dissolved product. The foam penetrates deep into the fibers of the fabric, completely pushing dirt out of the material.
  • The fourth stage is repeated scrolling. The drum rotates periodically, allowing the foam to “envelop” the entire thing.

    how the function works

Thanks to ecobubble, the effect of washing powder or gel increases significantly, since the bubbles quickly cleanse dirt, acting as gently and carefully as possible. Thanks to the foam and periodic rotation of the drum, intensive soaking on Samsung machines helps to defeat even the most difficult stains, for example, from blood, red wine, grass or coffee.

The housewife can vary the soaking time, depending on the degree of contamination of the item. As a rule, a standard 30-40 minute cycle is enough. The main thing is not to forget to add detergent to two compartments of the powder receptacle at once. After preliminary cleansing, it is easy to start the main wash, which will smoothly transition into rinsing and spinning.

Programs to help

After intensive soaking, the item is sent to the main wash to completely remove dirt. But for gentle and high-quality washing, you need to choose the right secondary program. Fortunately, on the dashboard of Samsung machines, modes are indicated not by icons, but by clear words.

Most washing machines have the following options:

  • cotton - suitable for white or colored linen made from the same material, and washing is ensured by high temperature up to 95 degrees, maximum spin and cycle duration up to 3 hours;
  • synthetics – selected for synthetic fabrics, continues for 2 hours at temperatures up to 60 degrees and high-speed spin;
  • delicate - for fragile and delicate fabrics that can be washed in less than an hour in water heated to 30-40 degrees and minimal spin;
  • manual – practically no different from the delicate program: 40 degrees, gentle spin, copious rinse;
  • wool – the mode is based on gentle and gentle washing, so the water heats up to 30 degrees, the engine accelerates smoothly, and the cycle lasts only 50 minutes;
  • children's - diapers and undershirts are washed at a temperature of 60-80 degrees to completely destroy bacteria, plus multi-stage rinsing is required to wash out the powder from the fibers (this mode is also suitable for allergy sufferers);

It is recommended to wash clothes in the “Children's Clothes” mode for people prone to allergic reactions.

  • fast - an advantage in accelerated washing, which lasts about 15-29 minutes (only for lightly soiled items, since complex stains cannot be washed in cold water in a short period of time);
  • daily - a special program for everyday items, underwear, pajamas, dressing gowns (gentle washing prevents clothes from quickly wearing out and losing their original appearance);
  • Intensive Eco - another fast mode, but with increased quality of washing due to special technology (the water temperature remains low, the cycle is short, but the speed does not affect the result);
  • Eco Buble is an option thanks to which the built-in generator mixes water with air and detergent, supplying active foam to the drum (thanks to the oxygen base, the powder becomes many times more effective, penetrates deeper into the fibers and quickly removes dirt from the fabric);

    programs to help

  • outerwear - turns on when washing items made from water-repellent materials (due to increased foaming, items are not only washed, but also retain their protective properties);
  • spin – starts if the items are not wrung out enough after the main wash (takes 4-5 minutes depending on the selected speed);
  • drain - can be turned on additionally if a breakdown occurs or you need to urgently empty the drum;
  • rinse+spin – selected when items were not rinsed enough after the main wash, there are stains or an unpleasant odor (the program lasts no more than 20 minutes);
  • Self-cleaning of the drum is an option that makes caring for the machine easier, as it includes a cycle for automatically cleaning the drum from fungus and germs (it takes an hour and a half when heated to 70 degrees).

With the help of intensive soaking from Samsung, you can forget about manual washing and entrust the cleaning of your clothes to active foam . This approach will allow you to remove even the most difficult stains faster, more efficiently and more carefully.
