Thermopot: instructions for use and features of action + Video and Photo

Thermopot is a modern household electrical appliance, which is a symbiosis of an electric kettle and a thermos.

The key difference between a thermopot and a thermos is that maintaining a high temperature of the liquid is achieved not due to the thermal insulation of the device, but thanks to the heating element.

The main advantages of a thermopot compared to a traditional electric kettle are energy savings, a large volume of liquid, and safety. Disadvantages - the dimensions of the device, the cost of more time to bring the liquid to a boil.

Design and principle of operation

Design and principle of operation

The main structural elements of a thermopot:

  • frame;
  • flask for liquid;
  • heating elements;
  • pump for water supply;
  • thermostat.

Improved models are equipped with sound and light alarms and coarse filters.

Operating principle of the device:

Principle of operation:

  • Water is poured into the flask.
  • After turning on the device, the integrated heating element brings the liquid to a boil.
  • The second heating element maintains the water temperature at a given level.

Thermopots are equipped with an electronic system that controls the temperature of the liquid inside the flask.

When the water cools, the device automatically brings the liquid to a boil or heats it to a temperature corresponding to the set program.

What is a thermopot?

Stay up to date! A thermopot is an electric device that combines the functions of a cooler, thermos and electric kettle.

Due to the thermally insulating flask, the device is able to bring water to a boil and maintain the temperature set by the user for several hours.

The design is especially convenient for busy people who do not have much time to prepare hot drinks.

After all, in order to brew tea or make coffee, you just need to bring the cup to the spout of the electrical appliance and press the button.

Purpose and functions

Purpose and functions

The main purpose of the device:

  • preparing boiling water;
  • keeping the liquid hot;
  • preservation of the physiological value and beneficial qualities of drinking water.

This household electrical appliance combines the functions of an electric kettle, cooler and thermos. The thermopot provides a constant supply of hot water.

Thermopot kettle is used:

  • for preparing baby formula;
  • for brewing tea;
  • for preparing instant drinks.

The scope of application of the thermopot is not limited exclusively to home life; the device is widely used in offices and fast food establishments.

It is rational to use a water heating device in regions with frequent power outages and in families with small children.

Which is better, a thermopot or a kettle: a comparative analysis

Analyzing all the information, some will say that a thermopot is more profitable than an electric kettle, while others will remain faithful to an already proven device.

Of course, each person decides for himself which device he likes best and which one is most convenient to use.
Of course, each person decides for himself which device he likes best and which one is most convenient to use.

To figure out what is better and more profitable to buy, you need to consider the advantages and disadvantages of a thermopot in comparison with a kettle.

Pros of a thermopot:

  • You can set the required temperature while the kettle simply boils water;
  • The heated liquid remains hot for several hours, and cools quickly in the kettle;
  • The capacity of the device allows you to heat water in larger quantities than can be done in a conventional device;
  • To draw water into a cup, the thermopot does not need to be lifted or tilted - in many models, you just need to press a button or press a special valve with the cup;
  • You can't get burned with a thermopot - its surface doesn't heat up, and if it suddenly falls, the system against liquid spillage is activated.

In addition to all this, the unit is also economical, since its use results in significant savings in electricity.

It may, of course, seem that this is not the case due to the fact that the device is constantly connected to the network. But an ordinary electric kettle that has cooled down and is turned on many times will “wind up” much more energy than just boiling water and maintaining it at the appropriate level.

How much energy does a thermopot consume? Its power ranges from less than 1 to 3 kW. When boiling water for the first time, it will spend more time and, accordingly, more energy than a kettle does. But the second time it will boil water very quickly (less than a minute) and the costs will be minimal.

Thus, the thermopot is more economical in terms of both time and energy costs.

But with all the advantages of this device, there are also some disadvantages:

  • The thermopot is quite heavy and takes up more space compared to a kettle;
  • A large volume of water will take longer to boil for the first time than in a conventional device;
  • High price.

Thermal pots are ideal for large families where there is a constant need for hot water or people who often have large and noisy groups. If you need boiling water about a couple of times a day, an ordinary kettle will be enough.

What should a good thermopot be like?

Getting to know new technology

As the instructions require, before first use, the thermopot is filled with water to the top mark and boiled, after which the water is drained. Firstly, in this way the user cleans the inner surface of the flask from technical oil or the “smell of new equipment”, and secondly, it is possible to verify in practice that the device is working properly and is functioning correctly.

Immediately after purchasing a thermopot, it should be carefully inspected for cracks, dents or other defects. The buttons and cover of the device should not “stick” or become stuck.

The main purpose of a thermos kettle is to maintain a given water temperature; as a result, the thermos requires electricity. After boiling, it automatically switches to heating mode. If you disconnect the device from the mains, the water will begin to gradually cool and after 4 - 5 hours will reach room temperature.

How does a thermopot work?

By design, it is a container (a steel flask, with a volume ranging from two and a half to five liters), which is housed in a plastic or metal case. The device is closed on top with a hermetic lid, on which the control panel of the device is usually located. Each device has two heating elements: the main one – for boiling water; the second is to maintain the set temperature. Hot water is supplied to the cup thanks to a water pump (manual or electric).

All thermopots are equipped with several temperature settings. The more there are, the better, but practice shows that the presence of three to four modes is quite sufficient.

There are different models of thermostats. In some models, boiled water simply does not cool down for a long time (5-6 hours) due to good thermal insulation. But then the temperature gradually drops. And in other devices, the high temperature is maintained by automatic short-term switching on (for this the device must be connected to the network). More expensive models have additional features. Here are some of them:

  • selection of maintained temperature (50-90 degrees);
  • Display showing current temperature;
  • Boil to a predetermined time;
  • Three ways to supply water: manual pump, electric pump, by pressing the button near the spout of the device with a cup;
  • Two water tanks: in one of them the temperature is not adjustable, in the second it is set by the user;
  • Reduced vaporization function;
  • Self-cleaning function.

How does a thermopot work?

More modern thermopot models have filters that respond to the remote control, and you can independently choose the temperature to which you want to heat the water.

The operating principle of the thermopot is very simple. At the initial stage, it is necessary to pour the desired amount of liquid into a special hole; it is not recommended to exceed the maximum permissible limit. Next, start the device using the power button. When ready, the device will notify you with a special signal.

The thermal switch will operate, which will come into contact with the tank and break the electrical current circuit, after which the water will stop heating. In the process of pouring water from the device, you do not have to turn or tilt it; you just need to place the container under a special tap and press the button. In this case, it is not necessary to perform any actions; it supplies water due to the pressure that is created during operation.

Cooling of water in a thermopot occurs according to the principle of a thermos. For several hours, due to a special mechanism and the thick walls of the device, the liquid will maintain its temperature. If you set a specific temperature in advance, the device will automatically maintain it at this level.

The thermopot maintains water temperature for several hours. This property is especially important for large families and families with small children.

As a third property, we can highlight the saving of time that is spent on boiling the kettle once or twice. Thanks to the large volume of the flask and long-term heat retention, you will save not only time, but also electrical energy.

The next advantage is that you don’t need to perform any actions with the thermopot: turn it over, tilt it, put it down. The device will do all this on its own.

Thermopot is safe to use. You cannot get burned when handling it, which will prevent you and your loved ones from getting into trouble.

The disadvantage compared to an electric kettle is the heating time. Since the device includes a larger amount of liquid, the heating time increases. The device also consumes more electricity during the process. Therefore, if you have a small family, then you can easily get by with an electric kettle.
